The role of volunteers is well known to anyone who has participated in a major event, party or social initiative. Rzeszów is actively developing its volunteer staff and is striving to obtain the title of the European Capital of Volunteering. It was precisely about the importance of volunteering that we discussed on 29 October during a debate organised together with the CEV – Centre for European Volunteering, at the House of Eastern Poland in Brussels. The event was also attended by Gabriella Civico, director of the CEV, Katarzyna Madera from Estrada Rzeszowska, Kamil Czyż – director of the Department of City Brand, Economic Cooperation and Tourism, and MEPs Robert Biedroń and Bogdan Rzońca. The discussion was led by Ewelina Jurasz, Director of the BWA Krosno Art Gallery.
Volunteers in Rzeszów played a key role, including helping refugees from war-torn Ukraine. They support the city in every possible sphere of city life on a daily basis. We are pleased that we can discuss whether and how the European Parliament can support their activities.
