Connect Poetry - We're Experimenting!

The Rzeszów Culture Incubator returns with the Connect Poetry project, this time in a new, experimental version!

Even before the May Day holiday, an installation appeared in Rzeszów in the form of a 2-meter cube made of mirrors and a banner towering over it with the slogan "History is like a mirror: what you see in it is only your reflection". These words and three poems were generated by artificial intelligence.

"The installation is the result of our own reflections on the role of artificial intelligence in art and culture. We wondered whether the poems created by AI would have a universal dimension, and their message would be a reflection of the experiences and emotions of each of us, even though it does not have them itself." - say the creators of the installation.

Artificial intelligence only generates what we ourselves have fed it - knowledge, data and dialogue. The creators decided to give it a voice - not as a tool, but as a reflection of ourselves. All the generated words are a conglomeration of thoughts, ideas and beliefs, in which the recipients can see themselves as if in a mirror.

The "Connect Poetry" project promotes poetry in the urban space of Rzeszów, encouraging residents to "connect" the written word to their lives. In the previous edition, poems by local poets could be found in designated places in the city. This year's edition introduces an experimental, even contrary perspective - the poems and quotes that can be seen in the installation were generated by artificial intelligence with the help of a human.

The mirror cube on Króla Kazimierza 25 is not only a space for reflection, but also for reflection. The installation is an experiment on the border of art and technology, it is to encourage reflection on the process of shaping our view of art and reality through technology.
