PROJECT CATEGORY - PERFORMING ARTS

We invite you to workshops for families, the axis of which is creative play with movement and words, through which participants will discover and learn the language of poetry. In every word there is the power to create an image: a word carries with it an idea, a memory, an emotion, an association. It is a code thanks to which we can communicate and understand. But there are also words that each of us understands in our own way! There are words that we invent ourselves or that appear in our language completely by accident and stay with us for a long time. There are words typical of our family, there are nicknames, there are unique names of our animals and funny names of dishes. Words arise from thoughts, thoughts from feelings, and feelings - from the body.

Can movement influence what and how we say? How we speak when we jump, and how when we hug our loved ones tightly? And can we whisper with our feet or sing with our hands? Traveling between “real” and invented words, we will create our own language, trying to understand what images and stories it holds. We will learn the substance of words – chewing them in our mouths or clapping their rhythm, whistling or letting them out through our wide open mouths. We will use rhymes, metaphors and comparisons that we use every day, which are, after all, the tools of poetry. Above all, we will discover what kind of dance words hold.

She is fascinated by the world of children's imagination. She explores how working with the body and embodied attention supports the processes of change and development, and choreographic tools can contribute to the discovery of new, creative ways of being, cooperating and communicating in groups and communities. Scholarship holder of the International Dance Festival ImPulsTanz in Vienna and the Alternative Dance Academy (Art Stations Foundation by Grażyna Kulczyk). Graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk and the Experimental Choreography Course at the Centrum w Ruchu in Warsaw.
