Czas Sztuki – is back! From November to April, every other Tuesday, we invite you to meetings with art! This series is a real treat for all art lovers – both for those who are just discovering its richness, as well as for enthusiasts who want to deepen their knowledge.

"Women in paintings. Dalila, Judith and Salome - the most famous temptresses: beautiful, cunning and cruel. Analysis of a work of art". Explanation of the concepts of iconology and iconography. Analysis of the form and content of the works discussed, according to Ewin Panofsky's method: pre-iconographic description, iconographic analysis, iconological interpretation. Selected examples of European painting will be used to present various approaches to the subject, which we could now call a leitmotif building narratives in the painting. To what extent, in light of the literary source, did the heroines of the canvases influence their own actions, and to what extent was it destined for them? The lecture will be given by art historian Dorota Rucka-Marmaj.

Dorota Rucka-Marmaj was born in 1973 in Rzeszów. Art historian, works as a curator in the Art Department of the Rzeszów District Museum. She is a member of ICOM – International Council of Museums. She deals with Western European painting and contemporary art, Rzeszów Architecture from the 18th to the 20th century. Curator of exhibitions in the field of modern and contemporary art. Coordinator of the “Generation ‘80” project and the exhibition at the Rzeszów District Museum. Author of exhibition catalogues: “Figura serpentinata” Bednarski, Pacześniak, Wnęk, Rzeszów 2010; Artefacts 13 “Lonely on the Tops of Hearts”, Przemyśl 2013; entries for the 2nd edition of the Encyclopedia of Rzeszów, Rzeszów 2011; critical texts on Art of Subcarpathia, vol. 2, vol. 3, vol. 4; introduction to the exhibition catalogue of the International Painting Triennial of the Carpathian Region “Silver Quadrangle”, Przemyśl 2012; articles “Summer Palace of the Lubomirskis in Rzeszów”, “Dąmbski Gallery from the collections of the District Museum in Rzeszów” in Renovations and Monuments, 2015; catalogue of the collection “Colourists.
