There are places in Rzeszów that for various reasons are not available for tourist, educational and popularization traffic. Rzeszowskie Piwnice - an interactive cultural institution, with its new initiative addressed to the residents of Rzeszów, wants to change this trend a bit. Urban break. We are opening Rzeszów monuments is to be a form of quick sightseeing (about an hour) of selected monuments of Rzeszów, which are normally closed to ordinary residents of the city. Meanwhile, these are places and objects that are extremely interesting due to their history, architectural style, function for the city, but also interesting facts that have accumulated over the years and are worth talking about.
Urban break. We open Rzeszów monuments will be a cyclical initiative, during which we will open a new monument and get to know it in the outlined formula. Each tour is a one-time event, exceptional and unique. The list already includes, among others, Rzeszów Castle, which can currently be visited once a month, and in the summer - once a week. Thanks to the support of the District Court, the castle has been made available to tourists.
There are also plans for other places, such as: the Lubomirski Summer Palace, the City Hall, the Market Hall, the ROSiR Hall, the tenement house at Piłsudskiego 5, the Zorza Cinema, the Old Synagogue, the Chapel of St. Hubert in the Miłocin housing estate, the Voivodeship House of Culture, the Kraus Tenement House, the staircase at Jagiellońska 12 and many others.
The first event in the Urban Break series. We are opening Rzeszów monuments will take place on Saturday, June 7. Participants will have a unique opportunity to visit the Lubomirski Summer Palace – a monument with a rich history and unique architecture that is not normally accessible. Dorota Rucka-Marmaj – an art historian – will guide them around the former summer residence.
