Explore the Rzeszów City Hall!
In 2026, we will introduce a permanent tour of the City Hall, a building located in the heart of the Market Square. This building boasts a rich and fascinating history. Guided tours will take place once a month, on a selected Sunday, and will allow you to discover not only the architecture but also the extraordinary history of this place.
Every historic building is a story – a tangible record of the aspirations, needs, and expectations of a given community. The City Hall acquired its current architectural form in the early 20th century, during the still-current search for a national style, which, during the partitions, was intended to be a visible symbol of preserving cultural distinctiveness and a source of national strength in anticipation of the long-awaited Independence. All of this is enshrined in the picturesque architecture of the Rzeszów City Hall. During Sunday's tour, we will discover the meanings hidden within the Town Hall's stylish attire, point out the preserved elements of the original décor and furnishings, and learn about the history of the interior transformations and subsequent conservation work aimed at restoring the building to its former glory. We will also uncover historical layers and meet the patrons of the contemporary works of art decorating the present-day interiors. We will also present the diverse functions of the building and show how the individual stories of its residents intertwine with the history of Rzeszów Town Hall. For the brave, a magnificent panorama of the Market Square and Rzeszów's Old Town complex can be enjoyed from rooms normally inaccessible. We cordially invite you to visit this unique monument, which, as a symbol of the small homeland, should serve as a strong point of reference for the local identity of Rzeszów residents and beyond.
Our guide through Rzeszów Town Hall will be Karolina Chomiczewska, from the Rzeszów branch of the Voivodeship Office for the Protection of Monuments in Przemyśl.
