Adrianna Gajdziszewska will introduce us to the art of women, revealing the story of women artists who have been overlooked for centuries in official art history.

Why have we been taught art history without women for centuries? This lecture explores artists erased from the canon, their extraordinary careers, courage, and strategies for operating in a world that wasn't ready for them. It's a story about talents finally coming to the fore.

Meet the presenter:

Adrianna Gajdziszewska (born 1991) is an art historian and artist working with sculpture, installation, and ceramics. She works and lives in Krakow. She is a PhD candidate at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. She has participated in numerous exhibitions, competitions, and artistic residencies in Poland and abroad. She has received scholarships from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the KPO, and Santander. In 2023 and 2024, she was included in the "Kompas Młodyj Sztuki" (Young Art Compass) ranking of the best Polish contemporary artists. She also conducts extensive educational and promotional activities. She is the founder of the educational platform Twarda Sztuka (twardasztuka_com), where she conducts original courses, lectures, and workshops on art history and contemporary art. She serves as an art history exam examiner for high school leaving exams. She organizes educational projects, competitions, and initiatives for young artists and those preparing for art studies, combining artistic practice with a critical reflection on visual culture. For this work, she was recognized by the City of Krakow as Animator of the Year 2025.

About the series:

As part of the new edition of the "Time of Art" series, we invite you on a unique journey through centuries, styles, and personalities. During the meetings, we will discover outstanding artists, works, and artistic movements, delving into the history of art from various—often surprising—perspectives.

This is not just a series of lectures, but also a space for shared discovery of art that inspires, moves, and lingers in the memory. The first part of the series will take place from November to January, and the entire series will continue until the end of April.

The meetings are intended for adults.
