Organizational Information:

  • Workshops aimed at youth aged 13-15
  • Maximum number of participants: 20
  • Workshops divided into two parts - theoretical in the Rzeszowskie Piwnice cinema hall and practical in the city space (City Center).

What does Rzeszów look like through the lens of a smartphone? During photography and architecture workshops, participants will discover urban details, textures, patterns, and geometric forms hidden in architecture.

Workshops conducted as part of the "Resovianistyka – Młoda Akademia Rzeszowa" project will provide an opportunity to learn the basics of mobile photography and consciously create images using the elements found in urban spaces.

About the "Textures and Forms of the City" class:
In the theoretical part, participants will learn the basic principles of photographic composition, the importance of light and shadow, and the impact of perspective on the perception of photographs. The capabilities of modern smartphone cameras and the principles of conscious framing will also be discussed.

The practical part will be based on observing the architecture of the city center. Participants will search for and photograph a variety of materials and their textures – including concrete, brick, glass, stone, metal, and wood. Photographic tasks will focus on recognizing structures, repetitive patterns, and the relationship between light and surface.

The classes will primarily develop observation skills, consciously selecting frames, and recognizing visual qualities in everyday surroundings.
