Tell me what kind of house do you live in? - or the history of the wonders, everydayness and horror of Polish residential architecture.
- November 19, 6:00 PM, Rzeszowskie Piwnice
- Participation rules: PLN 30 single lecture ticket available online or at the Rzeszowskie Piwnice box office
Czas Sztuki - is back! From November to April, every other Tuesday, we invite you to meetings with art! This series is a real treat for all art lovers - both for those who are just discovering its richness, as well as for enthusiasts who want to deepen their knowledge.
It is said that a person shapes their home, but also that this home, in turn, shapes them. And what if this mutual modeling becomes a series of intense, sometimes unpleasant struggles shared by the majority of the nation over many generations? What will the landscape be like as a result? What will our homes be like, and above all, what will we be like in them? The lecture will be given by the architect, Bartłomiej Pochopień.
Bartłomiej Pochopień is a graduate of the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning at the Kraków University of Technology. As an architect, he collaborated with artists such as: Marek Dunikowski, Stanisław Niemczyk and Tomasz Konior. In 2017, he received the Architecture of the Year award of the Silesian Voivodeship in the Single-family House category, as well as the Young Creator of Silesian Architecture distinction. In 2014-2015, he was responsible for creating the conceptual design of the "New Main Exhibition" at the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum. Since 2016, he has been strongly involved in the mission of architectural education as part of the Academy of Architecture initiative. In 2021, he became a scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in the field of Visual Arts, implementing a project called "Shapes of Małopolska", while in 2020 he was a scholarship holder of the City of Tarnów in the field of Film, implementing a project called "Shapes of Tarnów". In 2023, the Academy of Architecture, in cooperation with the BWA Gallery in Tarnów, has included all kindergartens and primary schools in this city in an educational program called Architectural Primer.
