This is an artist who created one of the most beautiful Polish love songs about... lack of love, in 2024 he returned with his fourth studio album entitled "W ognia".
The single "Co i tak idzie" achieved gold record status and a total of over 10 million plays on streaming services.
SKUBAS, once known mainly on the club scene, became known to a wider audience thanks to his own album "Wilczełyko" released in 2012. He currently has 4 long-playing releases to his credit. In his work, he travels into the depths of human experience. His lyrics are full of emotions. Without unnecessary embellishment, he touches on topics in which every listener can find a part of themselves. All this accompanied by sometimes tender and delicate, sometimes dark, dirty, almost grunge compositions.
Since his debut, Skubas has played several concert tours and performed at the most important Polish festivals (including Open’er, Orange Warsaw Festival, Jarocin, Przystanek Woodstock). He has also participated in projects such as Męskie Granie Orkiestra, Obywatel GC v.2.0 and Europejski Stadion Kultury. In 2024, Skubas' song “Gdy jest brzydko” sung with Józefina won the premiere competition of the 61st National Festival of Polish Song in Opole.
His latest album “W ognia” is an album about shades of love. On the one hand, the title fire is a symbol of warmth, life, survival, but also of combustion, lust, impermanence.
On the other hand, eternal fire is love that never goes out. The lyrics also include the thread of self-love and rejection by the surrounding world, toxic love, forgiveness, transience, as well as transcendence and longing.
Vocally, Skubas was supported on the album by renowned guests: Dawid Tyszkowski in the song “Co i tak idzie” (What Will Come), Krzysztof Zalewski in “Rdza” (Rust) and Kwiat Jabłoni - in “Zaraz się najlepsza” (It Will Start Right Now).
