Rzeszów Breakout Days is a festival dedicated to the memory of Tadeusz Nalepa – a legend of Polish blues and rock, born in nearby Zgłobnie – and Mira Kubasińska.

For years, the event has commemorated the artistic achievements of the band Breakout, while also presenting contemporary blues, rock, and music inspired by their traditions.

The festival's concept is based on connecting generations – on the one hand, through concerts by renowned artists and celebrating the work of Tadeusz Nalepa, and on the other, by creating a space for young performers to develop their musical journeys. Educational events, historical encounters, and initiatives involving the city's residents are also important elements of the program.

This year's edition will take place from September 11–13, 2026, and will traditionally combine concerts, a competition for young bands, and outdoor events.

September 11 (Friday)

The festival will begin with the Acoustic Blues Meeting at Rzeszowskie Piwnice (7:00 PM–10:00 PM).

Performing on stage will be:

  • Maciej Lipina,
  • Kielak Mystery Train.

The evening will feature distinguished representatives of the Polish blues and acoustic scene, who will present their own interpretations of music rooted in blues.

September 12 (Saturday)

Saturday will open with the Breakout Days Contest (10:00 AM–2:30 PM) at Rzeszowskie Piwnice – a competition aimed at young performers, promoting new talent and continuing the idea of supporting the next generation of musicians.

The day's program will also include:

  • "Naprzód Breakout" walk (1:00 PM - 3:00 PM),
  • concert by Rusty Pine – last year's competition winner (3:00 PM - 3:45 PM),
  • traditional "Singing for Nalepa" at the Tadeusz Nalepa monument on 3 Maja Street (4:00 PM - 5:00 PM).

In the evening, the festival moves to the Park Jedności Polonii z Macierzą (Polonia and Motherland Unity Park) for an outdoor concert (6:00–8:00 PM). The audience will hear the project „Rock & roll is King” performed by Nie-Bo Orchestra and soloists Natalia Kwiatkowska, Żaneta Lubera, Batek Grzanek, Bartłomiej Szopiński, Robert Lubera, and Piotr Nalepa. The program will also include a short rock and roll dance course led by Swing Step dance couples.

September 13th (Sunday)

The festival will conclude with a concert by the legendary band VOO VOO, which will take place at 7:00 PM at the Zorza Cinema.

The event will conclude this year's edition of Rzeszów Breakout Days, highlighting the unique character of the festival, which has for years combined the history of Polish blues with the most interesting phenomena of the contemporary music scene. Ticketed event – details coming soon!

The event will be hosted by Jan Chojnacki.

Rzeszów Breakout Days remains one of the region's most important musical events, cultivating the memory of Tadeusz Nalepa and Mira Kubasińska and building a bridge between tradition and new generations of artists.
