MIR is a music project consisting of two talented instrumentalists, mainly drummer Miłosz Pękala and mainly guitarist (and sampler) Bartosz Weber. It was created in 2018 and began its activity under the wings of the Tapes Webala micro publishing house, presenting the world with an album titled "On the Rim" in 2020. The next creative stage of the duo, inspired by the work of Solaris by Stanisław Lem and short films from the beginning of the century, resulted in the release of new material, which was released on October 11, 2023, also under the banner of Tapes Webala.
MIR combines Pękala's and Weber's fascination with the world of electronics and instrumental music from the turn of the century.
Their compositions contain references to the work of Raymond Scott, as well as extensive arrangements typical of Norwegian jazz, as well as a minimalist approach to the post-rock scene from Chicago.
