The fifth, anniversary edition of the #EyeOnTheCity city walks allows us to break with the usual formula. This is the uniqueness of the walks. This time, things are different, and we're returning to a topic we've already touched on.
We invite you to another walk in the #EyeOnTheCity series. This time, we'll walk through the very center of the city, but the main theme will be... the river. The river, known as the Mikośka, now flows beneath the city, beneath its streets, sometimes right under tenement houses, squares, plazas, and parks, in places recognizable to anyone even slightly familiar with Rzeszów's topography.
Our guide on the walk, titled "Mikośka and a Few Places Nearby," will be Professor Maciej Piekarski, a researcher at the Rzeszów University of Technology. His hobby, however, is examining the history of the city, his hometown, but he views it with an engineer's eye, drawing on maps, plans, and strictly technical descriptions, which are usually complex and intricate. Based on these, Professor Piekarski reconstructs an extraordinary image of the city. This time, it will be the image of a city with an underground river.
