Jazz For Kids | After the Birthday Toast for Tomasz Stańko

As part of the afterparty after the Birthday Toast for Tomasz Stańko, we invite you to an extraordinary event JAZZ FOR CHILDREN, which will include music workshops and a concert.

Jazz for children is a 45-minute workshop in the form of a concert, during which children will learn the instruments characteristic of jazz, the jazz pulse (swing), harmony and will learn simple rhythmic divisions. During the workshop, children are included in joint fun with music, playing percussion instruments, making music together and repeating melodic motifs. Jazz music, thanks to its expression, helps children develop emotional sensitivity, teaches them to read emotions and moods contained in melodies. Jazz improvisation shows children the value of creativity and spontaneity. During the meeting, in addition to presenting songs, the musicians will present instruments, their sound and characteristic playing techniques.

to take part in the workshops, you must collect a free entry ticket (only for children, guardians do not need tickets)

At 4:30 p.m. in the same place there will be a concert: Jazz Dla Dzieci Quartet feat. Jerzy Małek. The host of the meeting is Magdalena Este, a vocalist and pianist with experience in working with children. She will be accompanied by outstanding Polish jazz musicians: jazz trumpeter Jerzy Małek and double bassist Wojciech Pulcyn. The musicians are part of the Jazz Dla Dzieci Quartet formation, which has embarked on a concert tour around Poland with a special guest.
The concert consists of ten world standards and jazz songs, including: from the repertoire of Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, George Gershwin with Polish adaptations of texts by Magdalena Este for children and specially prepared arrangements by Michał Tokaj.
