Radek Karabanowski's exhibition "Bez roli"

Venue: Willa Januszów, Jagiellońska 24
Exhibition duration: April 10–May 9, 2026

We invite you to a guided tour of the exhibition with the artist and curator on April 28, 2026, at 6:00 PM.

Curator: Adrianna Gajdziszewska

Radek Karabanowski's painting stems from a need to express his own experiences and emotions. The artist works intuitively – he often begins painting spontaneously, allowing gesture and matter to guide the process of creating a painting. Only later does he attempt to understand what has appeared on the canvas and what meanings have emerged during the process.

His paintings are created through successive layers of paint, brushstrokes, and intuitive decisions made while painting. This process resembles a record of thoughts and mental states – moments of tension, uncertainty, reflection, and inner impulses. In his work, the artist is interested in how our experiences and social expectations influence how we feel about ourselves internally. Painting becomes a tool for observing these mechanisms—an attempt to see ourselves beyond the structure of roles we assume daily.

"Without a Role" is a story about searching for a place between instinct, imagination, and reflection—a space where an image is created before it is named or explained.

The exhibition is part of the My First Gallery project.
