He played concerts at the Unsound festival in Krakow and MENT in Ljubljana, as well as at the New Music Festival in Bristol. Lara Agar is a London-based composer and performer whose music combines electronic soundscapes and sampled material with acoustic instruments.
Described as “crackling like static” (The Times), her work develops in abstraction, often embracing elements of indeterminacy and vocality, while also allowing for mess and quiet chaos. She has collaborated with a wide range of artists and musicians, establishing close and lasting creative relationships across dance, visual art and film. She is interested in randomness, finds and uncertainty. In 2023, Lara released her debut EP Solstice on October House Records. In 2022, she was nominated for an Ivor Novello Award for This Unquiet Autumn. Her music has recently been performed and interpreted by, among others: Explore Ensemble, London Symphony Orchestra, Juliet Fraser, Mark Knoop, Plus-Minus Ensemble and Quatuor Bozzini. Her works have been featured on BBC Radio 3’s Night Tracks and New Music Show, as well as on NTS and Noods Radio. They have also been performed in venues such as the Wigmore Hall, Barbican, Milton Court, Sadler’s Wells, Iklectik and many independent and grassroots venues in the UK and Europe.
