"Toast Urodzinowy dla Tomasza Stańko" is a cyclical event that has been held since 2019 in Warsaw and Rzeszów - a city with which the legendary trumpeter was associated in his youth. Organized on the anniversary of his birth, it is a tribute to one of the most outstanding representatives of Polish and world jazz.
It is not only a concert, but also a musical meeting with the spirit of Tomasz Stańko's work - full of improvisation, freedom and emotions. So far, the stage has featured, among others, Marcin Wasilewski trio, Sławomir Kurkiewicz, Dorota Miśkiewicz, Maciej Obara - leading artists of the Polish jazz scene, who share an exceptional respect and artistic closeness to Stańko's music.
The event is also an opportunity to recall Tomasz Stańko not only as a trumpet virtuoso, but also as an uncompromising artist, open to new sounds and bold experiments. Every year, in an atmosphere of concentration and shared experience of music, we raise a symbolic toast to his life, work and legacy, which continues to inspire future generations of musicians and listeners.
