Magdalena Abakanowicz was one of the most important contemporary Polish artists. Her works encourage reflection on the place of man in the world of nature, art and history. During the lecture part, participants will learn about the history of abakans - extraordinary, monumental spatial forms that revolutionized thinking about artistic fabrics. The meeting will be a journey through Abakanowicz's work, enriched by a discussion of the artist's life story. During the workshop part, participants will have the opportunity to create their own fabric collages from natural and artificial materials, mainly those recovered from the second circulation, in accordance with the principle of upcycling. The meeting will be led by Adrianna Froń - a student of Contemporary Art at UKEN in Kraków.
The organizer provides the necessary art materials, but each participant can bring with them a fabric that is important to them and that they would like to give new life to by transforming it into an element of their collage.
The meeting is part of the "Artistic Dictionary" series on the history of art for young people.
