A walk through the Luftmaszyna tenement house
- November 16, 12:00, meeting at the gate from Kościuszki Street
- free participation
The tenement house on the corner of Słowackiego and Kościuszki Streets in Rzeszów has a unique history. It is not only the famous Luftmaszyna, where balls and theatre performances were held, where Helena Modrzejewska performed and Ignacy Łukasiewicz conspired. During World War II, part of the building was on the Aryan side, and part was included in the ghetto, designated by the Germans for the Jewish community. The pre-war Jewish residents and the wartime fate of this building are remembered by Mrs. Emilia, who moved into the tenement house with her family in 1938.
On Tuesday, November 12, in "Plac na Rozdrożu" you will be able to listen to a report entitled "Benek i Beila" with the participation of Mrs. Emilia, directed by Grażyna Bochenek, and a conversation between the author and sociologist Dr. Hab. Krzysztof Malicki, professor at the University of Rzeszów.
On Saturday, November 16 at noon, we invite you for a walk to the tenement house on the corner of Słowackiego and Kościuszki streets. During the meeting, Grażyna Bochenek, author of the report and president of the Rajsze Association, will present the functioning of the Rzeszów ghetto, Jakub Pawłowski, guide of Rzeszowskie Piwnice, will talk about the history of the building, and Mrs. Emilia will share her memories and recall people and events that she remembers from her childhood.
Organizers: Rajsze Association, Radio 357, Rzeszowskie Piwnice, Estrada Rzeszowska.
