"Time of Art: Understanding Modern and Contemporary Art" is a series of meetings that combine theoretical knowledge with practical exercises and shared reflection. Each session consists of an accessible introduction to a selected phenomenon in 20th- and 21st-century art, followed by a workshop section—including discussions, analyses, individual and group tasks—that allow participants to better understand the language of contemporary art and experience it in action.
Art remains a subject to this day, and it is not without reason that painting is the most profitable artistic discipline today. However, not everyone likes it, and the opposition to the rules of the art market became the basis for the formation of Conceptualism, a movement focused on the concept or design of a work. Conceptualism also initiated a shift in thinking about what a work of art could look like, resulting in the proliferation of new forms of art—assemblage, installation, and environment art. We will trace the development of this phenomenon through examples of key works of art from around the world and in Poland.

Karolina Plinta – art historian, critic, and editor-in-chief of "Szum" magazine, one of the most articulate commentators on the contemporary art scene in Poland. Thanks to her experience and open style, the meetings are a space not only for gaining knowledge but also for active dialogue and creative experimentation.
